For Claude Code on macOS
Every session,
at a glance.
Beacon shows what each Claude Code session is doing: working, waiting for your approval, or done. It also shows your 5-hour and weekly limits. Click a session to jump to its terminal tab.
Install
Latest version…
curl -fsSL https://beacon.y2cat.com/install.sh | sh
Paste it in Terminal. It installs into ~/Applications and opens Beacon. Beacon updates itself from then on.
Download .zip
The zip is a fallback: macOS blocks apps downloaded in a browser. If that happens, open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway.
1
Connect once
On first launch, choose Connect. Beacon adds its hook to ~/.claude/settings.json. Your other hooks and your status line keep working, and a backup is saved next to the file.
2
Pick a style
Open ⚙ or right-click → Style. Choose Menu bar, Floating orb (drag it anywhere), or Notch. Orange means a session is waiting for you.
3
Nothing else to do
New versions install themselves within 15 minutes. To remove Beacon, choose ⚙ → Uninstall Beacon…. This puts everything back the way it was.
